• Pajarito

Pajarito is a site specific mural painted on the 15th floor of the Empire State Building in New York, NY in 2022. This mural was challenging, it is located in an elevator bank and presented a very unique set of functional architectural features to work around. I am thrilled to have a permanent work in the iconic Empire State Building.

Borderland

Borderland was my thesis installation at the School of Visual Arts in the spring of 2020. The central work is a custom wooden inlay floor. The wooden inlay floor in the studio is made up of over 30 pieces of birch plywood  stained in four shades of rich brown. The floor depicts an Ancestral Pueblo vessel from the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that is almost 1000 years old. I believe Ancestral Puebloan works contain a uniquely advanced understanding of positive and negative space relationships, a dense and playful interpretation of background and foreground and are foundational works of art in the Americas. In my installation the viewer is literally held up by the Ancestral Puebloan vessel and the vessel is very much the foundation for my space both physically and conceptually. The vessel is at once a sculpture and the physical manifestation of a citation.
